Angel Island- Chaos Begins

Night falls near, with only a layer of orange under the dark blue skies. But soaring through the clouds was something none would find normal in the geographical knowledge; the Floating Island, also known as Angel Island. The majestic and lush land hardly holds any sentient life, except one...

And that someone sat, tranquilly, on top of a stone alter, closing his eyes from the world. Here, sat the guardian of Angel Island, no distant further from his precious rock that is the living heart of the land, the Master Emerald.

The red echidna sat, clearing his mind of all thought. Training himself to, not only for enlightenment, but to tap in the soul of the emerald. Other than the Master Emerald, and the scrolls left by his ancestors, the guardian been using the scrolls to learn the energies of the Master Emerald, and how to alter its power to his needs.

His needs are to protect the Master from those who comes with their greed fueling them.

Like now, as his eyes shot open.



"Around here?" Sally asked, making a pass around the large mountain, on the center of the island. Since this was her first time on the Floating Island, Sally, not only was at awe of its beauty, but clueless of where everything is.

Nearby, and yet...far away...

Emptiness, pure emptiness was in this void. A lone creature, walks this limitless world. A solidless body, a creature made out of water, with emerald green eyes that showed anger. The creature stop in it' tracks asit looked up in the skyless air, and it's eyes seemed to show some pleasure, something that hasn't been in it for a long time...

For today, the liquid feels something, something will happen, something that will please it...

Espio looked around. Angel Island looked just like it had looked last time he had met Knuckles here. "It should be. I doubt he'd bother moving the Emerald from where it's placed."

Eyes of a hawk spotted some over the air...something that had no right to enter his sacred grounds. And for that, with the glowing energies of the Master Emerald, the intruders will suffer the wrath...of his electric fists.


Sally looked around the landscape, also. "I wonder if there're any Chaos Energy data from the ring-disc. Nicole, search-"

SRCLASH!!!!

"GAAAH!!!" A lightening bolt erupted right in front of the Acorn Zoot. Sally quickly made a sharp turn around it, tilting the ship violently. "WHAT WAS THAT??"


The red one lifted his electric-coated fist up after he hammered it down. Pounding his fists together, sparks burst as they hit, while he let the emerald's energy flow into his soul. He shall have enough power to unleash two more Thunder Arrows. The third one WON'T be a warning shot.

Espio remained calm, and looked towards the mountain. "That would be him. I don't think I mentioned this, but he's not too fond of company. Take us closer; I'll try to talk him out of it."

Her eyes bulged as she squeezed the control stick. She had no idea Knuckles the Echidna had THIS kind of power. "That would be easier said than-GAH!!!"

Another thunder bolt cut her path, but again Sally curved sharply around it.


Knuckles glared at the incoming craft, who ignored his warning. Then its clear he will have to be rid of them with dire force.

"GRRAAH!!!" he growled, pounding his electric fist on the stone-alter. Another Thunder Arrow stormed from the skies.

"AAH!!!" Seeing the bolt hurtling at her, Sally pushed the stick down; the craft swooped under the thunder. Gritting her teeth, Sally pulled the stick up, pulling the craft's nose away from the landscape.

"It's not going to be easy!" Sally stated, steering the ship towards the tiny island that floated by the mountains. That is where the alter is. There was a pause, which can only mean Knuckles was charging his attack...

Which he is, as he pounded his fist together to draw in more energy.


She won't make it in time, but ... "Nicole, activate hologram communication!"


A hologram screen appeared before Knuckles, showing him Espio and Sally on the craft. "Espio??"

Espio cleared his throat, before he cracked his knuckles. "Knuckles, you have to cease fire. Me and Sally here have something to discuss with you. It's about Eggman and the Master Emerald."

With a soft growl, the electricity around his fists died, and so did the glow around the Master Emerald. He wondered what would Espio being doing here with a stranger. Even though he's...mostly friends with Espio, he still doesn't like the Chaotix to just come here as they please.

Carefully, Sally lowered and parked the Zoot on the grass; in front of the alter. The girl sighed in relief, glad she upgraded Nicole's hologram range. Now she just hoped this conversation will go without argument. She doesn't like to argue.

Frowning, Knuckles stepped down the stairs of the alter. "Next time, don't come here on some machine, Espio. You know I'm edgy around machines." Now that he was near them, Knuckles crossed his arms. "What is it?"

Suddenly, his eyes sprout wide at Sally's...appearance. His muzzle grew as red as his quills. "Uh...a-and, Miss? You don't seem to be wearing..." Awkwardly, Knuckles turned away.

"Huh? Wha-" Then she got it...in fact, this wasn't the first time people point out her ... pant-less fashion. Even though Mobians don't really have to worry so much about clothing, most females do wear more clothing. It's mostly the tomboys that don't wear too much clothes, like Sally.

Still, she hates it when people do that.

"Oh brotheeeeer..." she muttered, massaging her temples.

"Right..." Espio held his chin between his thumb and index finger, as he jumped off the Zoot. "Some time ago, Eggman robbed a museum, snagging a tablet of some sorts, but not before Sally snapped a picture of the tablet. Thanks to Sally's friend, we managed to find out what exactly the writings on the tablet meant: Something involving the Chaos Emeralds, the Master Emerald, and an entity known as Chaos. We surmise that Eggman wants to resurrect this Chaos, and he's probably going to use the Master Emerald to do so. He may already be on his way..."

Knuckles narrowed his eyes, right by the name of Eggman. "Chaos? Use MY emerald to wake up some...Chaos?"

"That's the jips of it. But I believe the tablet has something to do with an ancient culture...well you might...well, I'll show you. Nicole, display image: Mystic1."

"Displaying, Sally..." And again, the holographic photo of the tablet appeared.

Knuckles' eyes snapped wide. "What the??? Where did you find THAT?"

Sally flinched back from Knuckles intimidating shouting, but she quickly tried to regain her composure. "The museum! I-It was discovered in the Mystic Ruins not too long ago. If you want, I can translate the-"

"I know how to read this!!!" Knuckles then glared at the image, reading the hieroglyphics.

Espio shook his head, before he looked to his left. "It's quiet... too quiet." he said to himself, knowing that something was going to happen soon.

"Espio, if you say that clique line again, I WILL punch your head off!" Finished with the image, Knuckles glanced at Sally with a suspicious yet shocked look. "Is...is this a JOKE? This thing said that this Chaos...is IN the Master Emerald!"

"Well..." Sally meekly spoke, trying to find something that won't start an argument.

His furious look melted into a concerned one as he looked back at the emerald. "Is that...is that why I REALLY guard the-"

"Detecting massive aerial transport."


"What?" Sally looked up at the clouds above the landscape. She defiantly saw something within those clouds. Something shrouded in cloudy darkness within the clouds. "He's coming!"

"And not a moment too soon." Espio said, as he suddenly held a few shuriken in his right hand. "Sally, I'd advice you hide somewhere unless you have some moves up your sleeves. This might get messy." he added, narrowing his eyes, awaiting someone to approach them.


And someone did indeed show up. From the dark clouds, something blasted out, heading straight for the trio. It was Metal Sonic, repaired, and ready to destroy anyone who would oppose his master's will. "Target: Knuckles. Mission: Destroy."

Even though Sally doesn't like to act like a coward, she knew, within all her little heart, that she doesn't stand a chance against the Metal FREAKIN Sonic! "Uh...sorry, but I'll have to take your word for it."

Stepping back while gawking at the incoming Metallix like a deer to a car, Sally ran over behind the alter. She may not really help in the incoming battle with offense, but she can with defense.


Snarling at the blue robot, Knuckles pounded his fist together. "I really hate that thing! Come on! I dare ya! Try and fight me! Try and fight me! Try and fight me!"

As the emerald glowed...

The angry guardian was surrounded with electricity. "COME ON!!!" Hammering his fist down...

...a mighty Thunder Arrow blasted out of the clouds above them, hurtling towards Metal Sonic.

Metal saw the incoming Thunder Arrow, and quickly dived downwards to avoid it hitting him. "Threat Analyzed. Initiate Copycat." As Metal got returned upwards, he locked onto Knuckles, pulled his fist behind him, and sped towards the Echidna, ready to throw a punch at him.
