Rotor's Workshop: The Next Move

Massaging Antoine's temples, Sally shook her head. "Bunnie? I was hoping she and Rotor would be-"

"Sorry I'm late, Sally!" Brushing past Antoine, Rotor came into his workshop with arms full of robot pieces. "I'll try to-WHOA!!" Tripping one the floor, all those pieces scattered around the floor.

"Rotor!" Sally went over, squatting down to check on her friend's condition. "Rotor, be more careful! Are you okay?"

"Y-Yeah...fine!" Ignoring the pieces as he stood up, Rotor pulled out the Chaos Emerald from his tool belt. "I still have the emerald, and I'll use it for the radar. Hang on!"

Hurrying over to the tables, Rotor shoved the machines aside, making room for a small TV with many wires connected to a keyboard. The walrus placed the emerald on some type of portable stove pot and started connecting wires to it.

"Well while he's setting up the radar, I would like to share what I found out from Knuckles, but I'd like to wait until Sonic gets here, first."

"Hm. Though I am surprised that he hasn't gotten here quicker; if anything, he'd be able to get out of Windy Valley Zone long before the Casinopolis fiasco even took place." Espio said dryly, as he took a look outside of the open door. It was then that he noticed something at the end of the tunnel. "Wait... don't tell me...?"


Not two seconds after Espio said that, an all-too familiar hedgehog came to an abrupt halt right next to Espio, nearly pushing the chameleon to the ground by accident. "Sorry, Sal, but I couldn't find that bird anywhere." he said in a slightly annoyed tone, as he took a good look at his surroundings.

"Hey ya'll!" Bunnie smiled as she made her entrence, "I'm back!"


"Um...hi!" cosmo sheeply said behind the rabbit before she hid.

Sally frown at bit at Sonic's entrance, what with him nearly knocking down Espio. But also at the fact the bird could very well be gone.

"*sigh* I should've gone with you, or maybe gave you...Sal?" The girl shook her head; that's all past now. "Well next time you come in, watch where you're running, Sonic."

Rubbing his bruised head, Antoine walked over to the cyborg, blinking at the shy girl behind him. "Bunnie! Zhere iz, ow you zay...a hula-hula with you."

Sonic blinked a few times at Sally's remark, before slightly turning his head to the left, when he saw Espio, before backing necessarily away. "Heh, sorry 'bout that." he said to Espio.


The chameleon nodded, though he was still a little annoyed by the hedgehog's attitude. "Well, now we have everyone gathered here, you may begin, Sally." he said to the squirrel, as he took note of the small, plant-like creature behind Bunnie. And just who is that?

"Oh, this is Cosmo," Bunie said as the girl hid even deeper behind Bunnie, "She just a little shy, it's her first time in a big city, you should have seen the fuss the lil-darling did when she look out the windows." Bunnie giggled, while Cosmo blushed a deeper red.

"Huh?" Noticing the shyness about the girl, Sally tried a kinder tone in her voice. "Oh, hello there!"

Quickly, she cleared her throat, realizing the seriousness is still in the air. "Okay, while Rotor works on the radar...I'll discuss on a countermeasure I discovered that can help against Chaos. While I was talking with Knuckles, he told me that the Master Emerald has the ability to neutralize the flow of the Chaos Emeralds. So he agreed, that once he repairs the emerald, to use the emerald against Chaos if he were to get all the emeralds."

Sonic nodded, and raised his thumb. "Alright, sounds like a great idea!"


"One problem, though." Espio chimed in, as he glanced at Sally. "Chaos has two emeralds, and we only have one emerald accounted for. The remaining four are still at risk of falling into Eggman's hands."


"Oh, don't worry so much, Espio!" Sonic said cheerfully, as he patted the chameleon's shoulder. "We'll find the emeralds long before Egghead finds 'em!"

"So where we roundin up the next emerald?"

"Right, but again, this is only incase Chaos manages to get the emeralds. We're still going to find them first." Glancing over her shoulder, "That is if we can locate them so we can mobilize."

"Working on it!!" Rotor hollered, ferociously typing on the keyboard.

Pressing her lips together, Sally tried to figure something else to discuss. Until Rotor get that radar working, Sally doesn't have anything planned or in mind to keep these people occupied. The only thing under her concern, besides Eggman and Chaos, was that Speedy guy and his--

"Oh! Rotor, Bunnie? How's Tails doing? Did Rosie checked on him?"

"Uh huh..." Rotor chimed, concentrated on the computer. "Oh! I just uploaded the needed data on the Chaos Emerald for a radar. If you want, you can download it for Nicole's radar system."


"Great! I can return the Equniox's radar then. Nicole, download all Chaos Emerald tracking data from server-Walrus."

"Downloading now."

Green letters and numbers flowed like bubbles from Rotor's computer, into Sally's pocket. The girl carefully monitored the data on a holographic screen before her.

Leaning close to her, over her shoulder, Antoine gave a seductive stare at her. "Oooo, 'ou're really beautiful when 'ou work, 'Preensess Sally."

Her head silently twitched as Sally tried to resist scowling at the coyote. With a deep breath, "Antoine...do not call me 'princess'!"

With another breath...

"Besides, out here, the only royalty is mother nature ... and the system of justice, I suppose."

Gently taking her hand, Antoine rapidly kissed it. "To me ... 'ou always be royalty."

Let the dangerous glare begin.

As everything was going on, Cosmo been feeling left out as she sank into a corner.


Bunnie took a notice of this and turn to Sally, "I'll be right back, Rotor, you don't mind if I show the little lady some you games, huh?" She said as she lead Cosmo by the hand to the next room.


"Something happen to Tails?" Vector asked, "Who would...wait, was ity some bird thing?"

Sonic looked over at Vector. "Well actually, yeah. According to Rotor, this bird guy attacked Tails just after Eggman got hold of the Chaos Emerald he was in possession of. Think he was part of some group called Battle Kukkus..."


"What a coincidence." Espio murmured. "We happened to come across a pair from the same group while we were headed for Casinopolis."


"Ya did?" Sonic quickly looked towards Espio. "Sheesh, just Eggman is one thing, but with those birds around... they're like ants, always popping up wherever they please."

"That's another thing I like to deal with, maybe after we settle with Eggman and Chaos." Sally then pulled her hand from Antoine's. "According to what I read about this Battle Armada, or whatever they call themselves, they once were notorious pirates who once held superior firepower; attacking small towns in islands, and maybe smuggling illegal goods for criminal parties. But this group was thwarted by a single person on Cocoa Island. No one knew who he or she was..."

Sally sharply eyed at Sonic. "...until now."

"Tails? He did it on his own?!" Vector then turn to Sonic, "Did you know about this?"

Sonic blinked a few moments. "Well, to be honest... he's never said anything about any of those Battle Kukkus." he said, as he scratched his head. "He did say that he chased some crooks off an island, but he never went into much detail about it. But what can ya do? Tails really isn't the guy who brags about something like that."


"But that raises a dilemma." Espio shot in. "If this Battle Kukku army is after both revenge on Prower and the Chaos Emeralds..." He didn't say much more, as he leant against the wall again.


"Relax, Tails can hold out against those birds just fine!" Sonic said optimistically. "Besides, if both them and Eggman are after the Emeralds, they could just about start fighting against each other, right?"


Espio quickly shot a glance at Sonic. "He does bring up a point. I have high doubts that the Battle Kukkus and Eggman would want to cooperate with each other, and if we play our cards right, they just might forget about us when the time is right."
