The coolness of the early morning air was gentle, that much could be told. The almost deserted lake was still showing the last moments of the moon's light, which was perfectly fine with a particular lavender-colored digital being. Floating quietly amongst the shore, light pink eyes stared into their own reflection. She wasn't waiting for anything in particular. She was just taking a break. After all, her sensei barely let her run around wild, especially at night. So she took the chance to relax. Although she would rarely be calm, due to her naive and playful nature, she felt as though she should be a little more mature. Besides, she felt as though something was going to happen. Something that would change her life. She frowned. What could change her destiny? Could destiny even be altered? She didn't know. All she knew was that something was to happen. For the better or for the worst.

The lake suddenly rippled, as a small splash could be heard. A small rock, comparable to a pebble, had been thrown into it, by a human, and not a collection of data. "Hmph..." he sighed, as he picked up another one, and held it up to the moon. Next to him was a Digimon wearing a pirates outfit, with a cannon for a left hand, and a hook for a right one. While he couldn't throw rocks, he could sit next to his companion and look into the sky. "Something's gonna happen soon, I think..." the Hookmon said casually. "What do you think, Odaga?" Odaga shrugged, as he flung the rock into the water. "Dunno." he replied. "We'll just wait and see what's in store for us, Kagibari..."

The digimon blinked gradually, the ripples drifting her stone hard focus on her thoughts. She could hear voices from across the body of water. Her eyes reluctantly strayed away from the her blurred reflection and settled on another one. It appeared to be a large, pirate-like figure with a small...human figure? This was very, very rare indeed. Based on what her sensei told her, humans had never stepped foot onto their hemisphere. Only in Azulongmon's area. If that was true, then why was there a human here? She drifted her gaze from the water and stared directly at the two. It was a human, alright. And with a digimon, who looked like a Hookmon. Based on what her sensei said, humans and digimon, if their bond is strong enough, can become partners. They receive devices called Digivices. And with those digivices, the digimon the human's partnered with can digivolve. Her sensei called it a shortcut to evolution, yet admitted that it was a natural and necessary sort of thing. The digimon, who's to be revealed as Lunamon, hid behind the reeds. No point in talking to them. Especially if the champion digimon was a little fierce.

Odaga yawned, as he flung yet another rock into the water, rubbing his eyes. "How long have I've been here in the Digital World?" he asked out of the blue, as he looked at his Digimon partner. "Lost count." Kagibari said casually, as the moonlight shone down on his hook. "Things have been very boring these days; no one to protect against certain doom at all." Odaga chuckled a little. "You make it sound like we're a pair of superheroes, Kagi." he said smiling as he looked at the moon. "Soon, it'll be morning..." With that, he yawned, and fell on his back, eyes closed. "I'll take a nap now, Kagi. Keep watch, okay?" he said, as he fell alseep. "Roger that, Odaga." Kagi replied, as he looked at his cannon arm, contemplating the situation of the pair, which was a tragic one... Then, he glanced over in the direction Lunamon was hiding, although he didn't see anyone there.

Lunamon watched curiously. Protect against certain doom, eh? Well, maybe they WERE friendly. Either that, or they were pulling her leg. She contemplated her options; either run away like a wild mon, stay hiding, or just go up to them. She chose the latter. She floated into sight, glancing at Kagi for a moment. Then, in a blink of an eye, she was right in front of him. "Hiya!" she said, cheerfully. Boy, did she recover from doubt fast.

Seeing Lunamon appear right in front of him so suddenly made Kagi collapse backwards in comedic shock. "Who- who are you?!" he said in a shocked tone, tempted to threaten whoever this was with his cannon, even though he didn't aim it at her at all.

Lunamon blinked for a moment. She glanced slowly behind her before staring at him. "Nice to know you're talking to me...no idea why you did that though." She giggled. "I'm Lunamon, Luna for short. Who're you?" She took out a clawed, small hand.

Kagi looked at the hand, and extended his hook forward. "My name's Hookmon, but my pal Odaga calls me Kagibari, or Kagi for short." Then, he looked over at his sleeping friend. "Be careful, though; the hook's a little sharp for a shake, but it's the only thing I can do a shake with."

Luna smiled in response as she carefully shaked his hook. "Nice to meet cha! So is that human over there-" she pointed briefly at Odaga "Your partner? With that device of evolution and all?"

"He sure is!" Kagi said happily, as he looked over at his sleeping partner. "Odaga and I've known each other ever since I was born, even though I only met him two weeks ago. I just know I've known him for that long... As for evolution devices, I'm not sure. True, he could have one, but I've never seen it in that case."

Luna glanced curiously at Odaga for a moment. "Sensei said that the devices show the bond between a human and digimon. So maybe your bond with him isn't strong enough yet. At least, that's what sensei would've said." She chuckled before adding, "So, how come you're around here?"

However happy Kagi seemed to be earlier, he suddenly turned grim, and looked at Odaga again. "I'd rather not say... It's kinda complicated and depressing, and that's the least of our worries." he said gloomily, as he sighed. "But hey, no need to be depressed when such a lovely morning is upon us!" he said more cheerfully, as he looked into the sky.

Luna frowned the the dark, starry sky faded away, replaced with a pinkish background and a slowly rising sun. "The sun does almost the same thing it does to vampires to me. Not literally, but it still annoys me." She brought up her eternal grin, adding, "If you can't tell me, then that's okay." A sudden thought struck her. Wonder what her sensei might say..."Hey, Kagi, how'd you like to meet my sensei? Sensei won't mind...I think. Whatcha say?"

Kagi tapped his hook's blunt side against his chin in thought once Luna had asked him her question. Right now, they didn't have any missions to take care of, so it was a nice opportunity to get to meet someone... plus, it could help Odaga get away from his grasp. "Sure, why not? I'll just have to know if Odaga here approves, though..."

Luna groaned. "Always with the approvals...I barely get any of that from sensei!" she paused before smiling again. "Well, let's wake him up!" And she pounced on Odaga's stomach.
